This movie's comic sexuality is wonderfully juxtaposed with the prudish austerity of a boring small New England town, which the movie quietly mocks. Nicholson's performance shines and Cher, Sarandon, and Pfeiffer all fall under his spell as the audience falls under theirs. This movie is incredibly funny -- Nicholson's physical comedy and delivery hold it all together along with the magical score, but the best part is that the movie dares to be weird and funny at the same time as it's rather adult without coming off as puerile. A real treat to see that deserves a cult following.

Tight and funny, a creative vision realized and well executed, overall a very balanced and enjoyable movie that knows what it's trying to do and hits the mark in spite of being a piece of corporate IP. except for the car commercial in the middle, for which someone should be executed by firing squad. Will Ferrell's shtick also sticks out a bit in this movie
