  “Being There” is quite possibly Hal Ashby’s finest film and Peter Sellars best performance (though it’s hard to dethrone his trio of his impeccably hilarious characters from Dr. Strangelove or the iconic Inspector Jacques Clouseau).   I didn’t love Stopmotion, but it was well made and I’d say I liked it. I think I just wanted more from the film, particularly more stop motion. This may have also suffered a little having watched it right after Oddity. Definitely worth watching if you’re in the mood for this type of film.

  While this movie has a lot of flaws and issues, I have to admit that I just love this movie so much. Past the original and III, this film might feel the most nostalgic and comforting for me.
