Here is one of those unique movies playing with the film format. The whole film takes place from one shot/ one angle. Over centuries of time in that one location, but mostly in one single home.

A fantastic view into the history of a fragile Brazilian democracy in the 1970s. It was interesting to see what happens to a family when a corrupt government illegally arrest, interrogates, and tortures political dissidents. I watched it in the theater full of Brazilians, and there were some tearful eyes. If you're looking to see a fantastic view into the history of Brazilian democracy during one of its rougher times, it is a must see.

This film got me into Brazilian Rock. No joke the soundtrack is a who’s who of classic Brazilian rock. The camera work is amazing and watching the translators (still in frame) always makes me laugh. They are hilarious. You can see his mentors influence (Errol Morris) in his editing and cinematography. One documentary I show to photography students to discuss framing.

A modern who-done-it movie, where you are trying to figure out who the murder or murders is, while you're watching the flick. It is fun to see this heartthrob in a horror film and there's plenty of funny kills to go around.
