Alien: Romulus 2024
an incredible display of VFX and cinematography that is worth seeing in IMAX like i did. in a year that has FURIOUSA and DUNE 2, it's pretty remarkable that ROMULUS stands out as one of, if not the best, films visually in 2024.
unfortunately the film wants so desperately to be worthy of being a part of the ALIEN franchise that it can't find it's own story. i imagine for fans of the franchise this can seem like a fun amusment park ride, but as a film on its own none of it really works.
