Young photojournalist coming of age, set against a wartime action thriller, with some social commentary on our desensitization toward war and humanity.

-0.5 since the ending’s “character development” felt a little on the nose, but I mostly liked the film

Most of this movie’s critical reviews on Letterboxd seem to be dissatisfied with a perceived lack of thematic depth. Just don’t expect deeply nuanced political commentary, and it’s an enjoyable watch.

Definitely a kids’ movie with kids’ humor, and kinda long. But had a heartfelt moment and action was cool.

An artistic film - nice cinematography, long moments, great subtle acting. Frustratingly drawn out at times, but that’s kinda the point.
