Decent western film that pays homage to the westerns of old. Interesting watching this now and comparing it with Costner in Yellowstone. Definitely an underdog film about the misfits of society. It explores the simple nature of towns in the west and how they were all manipulated by a corrupt mayor with immoral purposes. Great action set pieces with fast quick to the draw shoot outs. Phenomenal film where you can see the influence this had on West World and Michael Crighton’s later works. Crichton a master of conspiracies, plays off the conspiracy themed movies of the seventies. I loved his incredible attention to detail. He made the film feel like the audience member was a resident in medical school the way he would spray medical terms on the screen and show procedure in depth.
