I’ve always loved the way Malick captures the world. Beauty and devastation existing side by side, nature carrying on indifferently while humans try to make sense of it all.

Strange Darling 2023
There’s a lot of hype on the structure and writing, but I genuinely don’t get why. This only feels clever because it’s non-linear - play it straight and it’s a painfully thin, overcooked story. Just smoke and mirrors with nothing behind the curtain but a wannabe Tarantino. I should note the acting is really good, I really like both main performances. And second note, the ‘this was shot on 35mm title card’ is the most insane pre-movie announcement I’ve ever seen - cool man?
