A very intriguing plot that kept me very engaged. Certainly dated in some ways and definitely influenced by the Red Scare. Interesting characters and story telling techniques, although not always well executed. It had multiple moments that made me go, “Oh damn, that just happened”.

The Shawshank Redemption 1994
An excellent movie. I really appreciate the attention to detail and the callbacks that keep coming up throughout the film. It has great range, making me laugh along with Andy and his friends, feel the despair of life as a convict, and enraged by the actions of the warden. The themes of hope and perseverance really resonate.
