Bing’s interview with his mom is one of the bravest scenes I’ve ever seen in a doc. What a monumental task to take on. I can’t imagine the weight that he must’ve felt making such a vulnerable film. The power of filmmaking as group therapy between the filmmaker and the characters. Wow! Genius the way he pulls himself into the film and then becomes one of the characters.
And the skating montages conveying the momentary freedom they feel from it all.
All of it is just so so beautiful!
