one of those movies where “ooh government is bad!” “ooh our president is corrupt” but then we end up finding it in our hearts to realize that government and military are good and we can work together to make everything ok. i thought the villain was fine but nothing special. obligatory annoying funny best friend was mostly annoying. i like red hulk but the way they ‘calmed him down’ was hilariously bad. overall very very mid but hey, captain america is black now! that’s a win.

genuinely didn’t think i would like this movie so much. love looking at pedro pascal and his character is such a sweetheart making it even better. not phenomenal and some moments hard to watch but seriously clever, funny, entertaining, dramatic yet realistic, and overall completely ridiculous. kept waiting for then to kiss.
