  And like all documentaries, it is massively improved by boobies and Patrick Swayze tearing a guy’s throat out.

  This very much feels like the best dramatized History Channel documentary ever made. For good and ill. Lots of cool stuff here, but it lacks the considered artistry or hypnotic quality of the first movie. This is probably due to the incredibly rushed production schedule for a movie of this scale. Considering the constraints they were working under, this is still quite an achievement, just not as sublimely atmospheric as the first one.
