  Watched @ Egyptian Hollywood for American Cinematheque's "Bleak Week" lineup, featuring a charming Q&A w/ Lynne Ramsay. I can think of bleaker things!

  Ratcatcher is surprisingly visionary and assured for a debut feature. Certainly my favorite of Ramsay's, now. Visually stunning & haunting - as expected - but also sweet, silly, poetic.

  The world of Glasgow here is overripe with vermin motifs and images of decay -- but the inhabitants aren't so obvious; every character feels effortlessly real and quietly brimming…

  Loved. Sumptuous direction + design, unbridled performance from K-Stew, Timothy Spall wearing Barbour jacket I wanted from J Crew that was like 450 bucks. Ultimately a horror film about spending Holidays at your in-laws.
