"Arrival" is about as unsettling as a PG-13 alien movie dares to be. Whilst by no means the first film to push the message the "humans were the bad guys all along narrative", I have never felt so sympathetic to a forty foot tall squid creature before. Exciting visuals from Villeneuve and Bradford Young were mind-bending without being forceful or pretentious. At no point did I feel like I was being slapped around the face…
