  I felt almost as confused as Lenny this entire film.
  Beautifully shot. Confusing and engaging exactly how it should be. Plot was so schizophrenically connected in a way that felt like it gave ME memory loss. Truly an incredibly use of reverse narrative and segmented storytelling to convey the plot. Not an easy watch but worth every minute.

  Polanski directs a film and depicts a world which is so brutally honest, unforgiving, and cruel in a way that left me speechless. The desolate scenes of war-torn Poland and a gaunt and horrific performance by Adrien Brody are meant to be true to Szpilman. This is not meant to be a great film.

  As Szpilman is told to be quiet in his hiding and plays a phantom piano with his starved fingers, this film’s beauty is elevated to that…
