Was going to read the book but despite it being available at the local branch of my library, I found the movie in full on YouTube. Not to be in the least bit dismissive of the film, I will simply state that I wished I’d read the book before watching the movie.
Why is my brain’s capacity to appreciate the core concept behind the benefits of delayed gratification so underdeveloped?! Seriously. I’m willing to undergo some kind of clinical study for this (but only under the supervision of an unimpeachably scrupulous psychiatrist).
