I’m a sucker for a good mystery, and Russell Crowe is my favorite actor.
Such a fun ride. The opening scene hooks you instantly and then the two opening monologues characterize both our protagonists so well. It also has me hardly laughing at several different moments.
The way in which the story’s mystery unravels in layers upon itself is so so fun. It may be corny or cheesy or what say you, but I really really enjoyed it.

Clive Owen delivers in a big way and there’s so many small characters that are packed to the brim with humanity and life.
Without giving too much away, this movie does such a great job of continuing to keep emotions high and not make it feel repetitive.
Enjoyed this a lot more than I thought, Redford is great and Hoffman plays off him wonderfully.
I do wish there were certain aspects of the mystery that were more fleshed out but I think the mystery also played in the intrigue
I was just so uninvested the whole time. Johnny Depp’s accent was unbearable and Ewan McGregor wasn’t enjoyable.
Jock was hilarious and there were funny moments, but very scarce in a movie that should have been 30 minutes shorter.
This movie was also carried by set and costume design.
