  Smiles of a Summer Night 1955

  Did not expect Jarl Kulle to enter this film as a madman count and turn it into The Deer Hunter by the end. Absolute powerhouse comedic performance.

  The rest is strong, but never transcendent and there is, of course, a lot of really dated portrayals to go around. But all in all quite fun and it’s nice to see that our big old brooding boy could make something as frivolous as this.

  Well, well, well.

  Spent one hour squinting with my eyes to understand what was going on. When my brain finally caught up I found myself really liking this.

  Also: It’s all in the sauce. Bong Hive Rise.
