Good movie, not great. The weakest of Peeles movies, but only because the other two are so great. The one thing that disappointed me was that I couldn’t connect the meaning to the hands across America image. I was stuck trying to decipher the meaning but couldn’t come to a good answer. It felt like there was a solid thought behind the deeper message of the movie but it just lacked direction

The only thing I really told people about this movie is that I don’t see myself seeing it twice. So much science dialogue on top of hard to understand accents. It requires a lot of attention to fully grip what’s going on. But if given the attention it deserves, it’s a fantastic screen play with completing performances from the whole cast

Loved watching this. Went in expecting a thriller/action experience but was treated to a classic monster movie. I saw shades of Jaws throughout and was entertained the entire time. Great movie for longtime Nintendo fans. Honestly my favorite part of the movie was the score. It’s fun to pick out how many game themes the subtly sprinkle into the score throughout the whole movie. There are plenty of fun Easter eggs throughout as expected. Jack black is a perfect casting for bowser and stole the show imo.
But in all honesty the writing was really bland. I get that it’s a kids movie but this is an Illumination production.…
