This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
I thought this film was uniquely horrific. It did not leave me devastated, as some of the other notable films covering the same topic did (The Pianist, Schindler’s List, etc.); rather, The Zone of Interest leaves you disturbed and numb.

In 1997, all 39 members of Heaven’s Gate, a Christian millenarianism cult, committed collective suicide under the belief that they would be taken to better life aboard a secret spaceship trailing the Hale Bopp comet. On the same day they took their own lives, the group literally went to see Mike Leigh’s Secrets & Lies at the cinema. Not that I’d go as far as taking my own life, but this film didn’t really do it for me either.
