Baz's visual style, reilant on quick cuts and exagerated montages were way overdone for a serious biopic and at times, took me out of the film, but Austin Butler’s performance as Elvis deserves an Oscar nomination.
It was an OK movie that fell so far short of my expectations. It felt rushed and way too long all at the same time, rushing through parts of Elvis' life in ways that I felt like I only learned a satisfactory amount about who Elvis was, and at the same time, I wanted to take a nap during the middle section because of how much it dragged.
