  The Birds 1963

  They simply do not throw birds around a room like this anymore.

  Finally got around to this one! This is a movie my mother has always mentioned offhand and is shocked that I hadn’t yet seen it. I have a feeling it must have really scared the hell out of her when she first saw it, likely too young if my math is correct.

  However I would have loved this as a kid. Especially back then with a rampant imagination…

  Thirst 2009

  Hornier, bloodier, harsher Twilight.
  Has some odd pacing, but like many Korean films, the shifts in tone are very fun.

  The Kino Lorber BluRay isn’t the best looking. It’s not compressed well enough for all the shades of dark and shadow happening throughout to look good.

  You’d think this is a “dudes rock” movie but it’s very much a “dudes do not rock” movie when all is said and done.

  While she didn’t watch the entire movie, I’m chalking this one up as “one Hannah didn’t care about but ended up watching a bunch of anyway”.

  The 4K upscale from BluRay was pretty good, the disc is thankfully quite healthy. Given this is a film production, and this 1080 master was supposedly based off a 4K…

  Consistently interesting four part docuseries.
  Started out skeptical, then as revelations occur, assumptions are continually proven incorrect.
  Smartly does not avoid the concept that justice is far more within reach for the wealthy than the many poor individuals that bad things also happen to.
