A big swing that tackles many themes at once. Work culture, colonialism, xenophobia, politics, trauma, all while also managing to be funny. The commentary gets a little muddled when the movie tries to do too much at one time, but all in all it was a very enjoyable watch.
Lynch’s “Darkness in light” aesthetic is not only executed perfectly, but it’s also firing on all cylinders. Every scene feels eerie in that special way that only Lynch can achieve. Not much else I can add that others haven’t. It’s just damn good.
