Dune 2021
An incredibly immersive world, with beautiful cinematography, that’s carried very heavily by the captivating soundtrack.
On rewatch, I enjoyed the method of story telling. Despite the dictionary of new terms thrown at the audience, there isn’t an overwhelming sense of confusion, but rather an intriguing mysterious aura held throughout. There isn’t too much audience handholding either.
A couple of spots where the dialogue stood out poorly. A few lines that were “marvel” level cringey, that can briefly take you out from the experience. And a just a bit of CGI that sometimes sticks out.
Overall, very engrossing, and I’m excited for the sequel.

Bottoms 2023
A hilarious, self-aware comedy with love-able characters, brilliant on-screen chemistry, and just the right amount of over-the-top antics. The writing is hip to its time and lacks the usual corniness that comes with comedy movies. Honestly wish it were a bit longer to flesh out some more of the character dynamics. Enjoyed every minute of it
