The song she sings to summon King Caesar goes unnecessarily hard.
Love that this is more psychedelic James Bond with gorilla aliens than it is a kaiju destruction movie, but when it is a kaiju destruction movie, it’s a bloody bar brawl of a showdown.

Need all people to hate the rich and distrust the government as much as Bong Joon-ho does!
Also, there’s like zero subtext in this film. A character literally screams at the Trump stand-in for everything that’s wrong in the world. Unite the Mickeys, kill the greedy, and bless the Creepers.
EDIT 1: Mickey 17 understands the same presumptuous nature that I have of assuming that he fucked up or that people just don’t want him (“They don’t want my meat!”) and I love him for that.
