  I wonder if the casting director said, “Give me a cross between Kevin Smith and a dollar store version of the Penguin” for one of the villains.

  This film received a standing ovation of three grown men at my screening. Hard to disagree with their reactions.

  I am sure Brady Corbet spent half the budget for The Brutalist on film stock and cigarettes. 

  Various thoughts: Good but not great. I left my screening with a question or two or wanting a better resolution. Superb performances by all involved. 

  
  I overheard a guy in a Stanley Kubrick is film tshirt tear up saying this is why cinema exists. I’m sure this guy is a riot at parties.
