Civil War 2024
Frustrating.
This film willfully focused on the least interesting aspect of the premise and, well, I just wasn’t that interested. It felt like a manipulative bait-and-switch. I would not have paid to see this film knowing what I know now. Not a bad film just not the film I wanted to see. The trailer fooled me.

Murina 2021
Well. I mean it’s unlikeable characters in unlikeable situations for two hours so if you’re into that, you’ll love Murina. It is a “character driven” film but I use the word driven somewhat loosely. Not much happens. Basically a girl comes of age and realizes her dad is an asshole and that not everyone is how they seem. For two hours. Scintillating stuff.

This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
**MILD SPOILER ALERT**
On the spectrum of "plot" films versus "character" films, Paterson sits at the far side of the character end. It is a meditative observation of Paterson, a bus driver and poet. You will like it if you are fully awake, patient, curious, and willing to mine for character information through the small hints and nuanced subtext but, be warned, you must be willing to do the work as there is no overt plot to pull you forward.…
