  This was my first Bong joint, and will always be one of my favorites. Disturbing as all hell, I had to revisit after feeling disappointed from Mickey. Glad my partner at the time showed me this 8 years ago and put me onto some yeonghwa! Idk why this film isn’t talked about more. Super slow burn but well worth the ride.

  Bava’s first is also one of his best. What a crazy debut! Fog drenched, gothic horror masterpiece! Atmospheric lighting and sound design, and some gorgeous B&W cinematography! Style in spades. Also very cool makeup and fx for 1960. This film quite possibly contains my favorite opening scene in horror!

  This film is like Life of Brian for Russians. It’s just one giant crash out after another. I’m starting to think this Andrei Rublev guy is kind of a big deal or something, but for a painter, we really don’t be seeing him do a lot of painting. He just kinda be vibing out, wandering around, not givin a fuck.
