Bong Joon-ho has always woven dark comedy into his movies to explore themes like class, inequality, prejudice, and environmental issues. But unlike the sharp, thought-provoking approach seen in Parasite or Mother, Mickey 17 tackles these ideas in a much more blunt, in-your-face way…sometimes landing with great comedic effect, but often at the expense of the story itself.

As an absurd sci-fi comedy, Mickey 17 feels like it never fully commits to the narrative it’s trying to tell. Too many scenes play out like setups for punchlines rather than delivering moments that truly resonate

The one word that kept running through my mind while watching Black Bag? Sleek. This is a masterclass in concise, tightly executed filmmaking…every element is meticulously crafted to deliver a sharp 90-minute spy thriller.

Despite being almost entirely dialogue-driven, Black Bag kept me hooked with its sizzling chemistry, sharp wit, and an intriguing mystery that pulls you in from start to finish.

Can NOT let gang know I fw this 😭🙏

Alien: Romulus delivered exactly what I was hoping for…an intense, claustrophobic, and ruthless dismantling of an unsuspecting space crew!! At times, it genuinely felt like I was watching the original Alien, and I mean that as the highest compliment. While some might argue that the movie doesn’t break new ground for the franchise, I think it masterfully takes what made the first one so effective and reinvents those elements in a way that feels fresh and thrilling. Also, Cailee Spaeny.…
