Aliens 1986
Special Edition
So the first film is one of the best sci-fi horror films, and “Aliens” is one of the best sci-fi action films. The 80s was such a great time for film imo. Sigourney Weaver’s best performance I’d say (at least she got an Oscar nom).
The special effects still hold up. The design of the Queen Xenomorph and her “hive” is cool (and kinda disturbing). I still feel kinda bad for her.
I’m sure the British crew who…

Mission: Impossible – Fallout 2018
Still exiting to watch countless times.
This is a perfect character study of Ethan by delving more into who he is and his morals.
“Fallout” is such a cool title with a double meaning, dealing with nuclear warfare while also dealing with the consequences of Ethan’s good intentions. I think with everything that’s happened in the first and third one, he can’t live a normal life and be with someone who isn’t a spy. He’d rather save a single life…Translated from by

Adolescence 2025
Excellent. British shows know how to be so good with great performances throughout. The fact that this is Owen Cooper’s first acting role is wild, cause he was great in the first episode and especially in the third one with the psychiatrist (she was good too in that episode).
You kinda forget that each episode is filmed in one shot/take since your so invested in what’s happening.

GoodFellas 1990
The perfect gangster film. Brutal, funny, and tense at times with “great” characters. Ray Liotta should’ve been nominated for an Oscar for this. Never appreciated how great the editing was before, and a good use of freeze frames. Great needle drops too.
Seeing this in 35mm (although a not well maintained print) with a very good audience is a vibe.

Mickey 17 2025
Not Bong’s best, though it’s still entertaining and hilarious. Robert Pattinson always knows how to not be himself when acting. He can play an insecure and a confident psycho well. He can definitely pull off playing Steve-O.
Just like “Poor Things”, Mark Ruffalo playing a pretentious, obnoxious bafoon will always get me laughing, mostly because of whatever he says and how he acted.

The Electric State 2025
Another day, another Netflix original film.
To quote Stanley Tucci, “Who cares?”
The Russos have sure been on a real hot streak after “Avengers Endgame” (not really). This feels like every other film about A.I (or every other sci-fi film), and I prefer “Chappie”. Chris Pratt is just being himself here (as usual).
Alan Silvestri didn’t have to go hard on that score (not a compliment). Sounded way too like “Back to the Future”, didn’t really fit imo.$320 million spent on this is absolutely wild, especially for Netflix.
