Fiancée picked this movie for us to watch and then said that it was boring and turned it off with 36 minutes left, leaving it off on a massive cliffhanger. I had to read the wikipedia for it
This wasn’t bad but it felt uninspired. Might’ve been better as a mini series in the same fashion as Narco Saints
*two Miami players get indicted for grand theft auto* “uhhh yeah ‘Catholics vs convicts’ is a racist slogan.”
While it was distasteful, the narrative on the intent behind the slogan was blown out of proportion. Lou Holtz was coaching circles around Jimmy Johnson. Lastly, $12,000 in November 1988 is the equivalent of $31,600 in December 2024 - it’s insane for that one guy to have incurred that much debt trying to sell sunglasses.
Looking forward to August 31, 2025.
This movie could be considered predictable and formulaic, but I loved the highs and lows of Rudy’s story and how it had a happy ending that was not over-the-top. Our protagonist had to get it out the mud to prove his opps wrong and any honest, hard-working, and spiteful person has to respect that. Also I think it’s cool how this movie essentially made Corby’s into what it is today. Yes I’m a ND fan, so yes, im biased. But I stand on this review.
