I think the movie was shot well. The acting was funny, campy. The colors were dark and it felt like they captured the mood it was trying to portray very well. Loved seeing the green goblin. However I also felt like I was being held hostage to weird sex scenes, prolonged silence with extremely loud jump scares, meaningless dialog, aloof characters, some scenes just felt like they were stretched to their limit. Even know this is a movie made for kids, the nostalgia bit wasn’t good enough for me to call this a coherent story. The first 30m were fine. But everything after just felt pointless. An existential deep dive into depression.
By far one of my favorite animes.
Essentially the handbook to giving in to all of your worst feelings, thoughts and actions. This show, followed by the movie “The End of Evangelion” makes you feel terrible for about a month after watching. 10/10 would recommend. Everyone deserves to feel bad.
