Hellboy II: The Golden Army 2008
Creature FX were fun. I’ve started and stopped this movie almost ten times until yesterday finally. Glad I watched, but the first Hellboy reigns supreme in all the ways. Wish there had been a third with Ron Perlman. Never mad at a GDT flick.

Princess Mononoke 1997
One of Miyazaki’s more mature masterpieces. From showcasing the dangers of destroying our planet, to the many shades of grey involving one’s idea of survival, this movie is one of the more perfect tellings and observations of the ever developing modern world, and all the complications that come with it. Unfortunately, Miyazaki doesn’t believe in happy endings (especially when it comes to the future of mankind’s survival), so this film tidies up fairly quickly with a resolution I can’t say I completely buy… but that being said, the visuals and animation are stunning, and the story itself is captivating. One of my absolute favorites.
