This is very much my type of movie.
So sleek, so calculating, so clever, always one step ahead in its storytelling.
It’s kinda hard to pick 2 better actors as your leads, and the supporting cast didn’t miss a beat. And it’s sub 100 min runtime? Chefs kiss. Paired with that Oceans Eleven-y soundtrack that makes it feel so cool.
Soderbergh still has the juice.

The ultimate vibes movie. Elite.
This is pretty undeniable. Saw it in its best and intended format in Imax. Visually and audibly one of the best movies this century, I can say that with confidence. Score is undoubtedly one of the goats (contributed a lot to my CPA study time), and while there can be some quibbles about the dialogue and the ultimate climax of the movie (typical Nolan tropes) it feels more personal than a lot of his movies. A worthy successor. I’ve heard a lot of talk about how this one didn’t pack the same emotional punch or weight as the first, and while it’s hard to beat Maximus’s story, this one had me intrigued the whole way and more than held its own in that right.
Some absolutely sicko battle sequences, a performance from Denzel you can’t look away from, and overall really satisfying conclusion for Rome.
First time in a while that I’ve been to a movie where people clapped when it ended, and I can see why.
