This could’ve been a generic cartel movie with a worse director, but the directing and score really elevate the otherwise decent writing. It’s grim and dark, and the action scenes are riveting. Not my favorite of Denis, but still a great watch!

How to Train Your Dragon 2 2014
While it lost some of the magic from the first movie, it’s still incredibly charming and mature. The music and humor were a little off this time around, and there are a few pacing issues. But overall I still love the dynamic between Hiccup and Toothless and that carried me through some strange narrative choices.

A fun, uniquely Bong Joon Ho film that has a lot of great ideas - and leaves a lot of them unfinished. I really enjoyed the first half and turned my brain off for the second half.
Robert Pattinson was wonderful, and I really enjoyed the goofy tone. But I actually found this film to play it much safer than a lot of Bong Joon Ho films.
All in all, a fun time, a good movie. Could have probably been great with a little more time in the writers room.
