This is a great anime film if you are a fan of jazz at all. In most anime fashion the passion for the subject is a slightly exaggerated but it gives it so much heart. The musical performances are incredible and I was surprised how many long form songs they performed. Animation style and direction overall was great except for one outlier. Whenever they perform it goes from 2D to 3D animation. And the 3D is not the greatest. Not…

Masterpiece. This along with the first part will go down as some of the quintessential pieces of film for the sci-fi genre as Lord of the Rings did for fantasy. I don’t think I’ve experienced anything quite like what I saw here. Though many stories have taken from the source material this movie felt like something new. The visual design sticks out the most as being the most stunning.

In being the Ying to Barbie’s Yang this movie makes you leave the theater not with joy but with terror. This film is both breathtaking in its presentation and haunting in its message. Nolan weaves together this story going between multiple timelines in a way only Nolan himself could achieve. The sound and editing leave you completely enraptured the entire time, edited like a trailer with constant cuts and music never letting up which makes the 3 hours seem to…

This movie is a joy to watch through and through. The set pieces, the actors and writing all coming together to something hilarious and great. Margot and Ryan kill it as the leading roles of Barbie and Ken while the supports cast also set themselves apart when they are on screen. My only critique is maybe a little less of Will Ferrel’s character and a little more Michael Cera.
