  Standalone not a bad movie by any measure, but when you look at it in comparison to Tarkovsky it really hurts. If Lem was furious at Andrei’s version this must have him rolling in his grave. Made it too digestible at the cost of the beautiful moral ambiguity.

  Also whoever wrote Davis’ character really hung her out to dry.
