Drugstore June 2024
The first 15 minutes had me thinking they were purposefully poking fun at movies like this— “quirky”, “hip”, “indie” comedies. But… they weren’t. Glad to support it, and all, as I hope it will spur on other indie films. But… just honestly wish it was better.

Thought I would love this. Wanted to love this. Have to admit… it was missing something that would have made me love this…

Taking Care of Business 1990
(Extra 1/2 star for Late 80’s-Early 90’s comedy magic.)
To the younger people reviewing this one with a chip on their shoulders... I’ll say this...
Unless you know what it felt like to walk into a video store and see cover art like that featured on this film, your opinion doesn’t matter.

An Alan Smithee Film: Burn, Hollywood, Burn 1997
The legion of half-star reviews are not worth paying attention to...
This is not a film for a mainstream audience. And, even within its intended audience, it won’t please all.But it is NOT the historically terrible embarrassment of a film it has been advertised as... it is a very interesting time-capsule that will make anyone who worked in or knew about the era of filmmaking it skewers chuckle.
This was well worth seeking out, if only for those of us who would get the point.
In closing... I liked it.
