  Man, I know that final speech is emotional and all, but isn't it just the most obvious Author's Message (TM) you've ever heard in your life. Basically two hours of pretty characters hanging around and being pretty, and while it's nice to see a gay romance in which the characters aren't in any way victimized or made to feel guilty for their love, it wasn't a wise decision to drop any conflict whatsoever. I know it was a different time, but when Oliver rubs Elio's naked shoulder in the beginning and Elio looks uncomfortable, a shiver ran down my spine--hell, he's grooming this kid!
