Sing 2016
Seth MacFarlane essentially played a family friendly version of his characters, all for it.
This film is essentially a playlist of covers of popular songs (with the exception of Scar Jo), it expects nothing more and nothing less. The film’s, “stars can be found anywhere”, narrative that’s been done many times, in a safe environment.
But I still enjoy it to this day, ‘nuff said.

Even while I’m young, I too wondered if I had made the, “correct decisions”, this film is a great exercise of that sort of question we may ask ourselves.
I love when a film isn’t judgmental towards its characters, as it’s open to leaving a different taste for the audience. Where lens allows us to indulge how Julie, her love interest’s feelings, her dreams, a bad trip, and the very thoughts that one would deny otherwise…

Jin-Roh: The Wolf Brigade 1999
I don’t know if people associate this in the realm of animated Japanese films that should be watched, but if it isn’t it should.
Instead of hyper gore violence, it’s used sparingly in the complicated showcase of government scandal and underground occurrences within Post-Axis occupied Japan.
Animation wise it takes that route that almost appears rotoscoped, when it simply takes its time in fluid motion. Alongside the audio that simply brought the world to life.
Not to mention the dream…
