Bad Boys for Life 2020
In losing Micheal Bay, this movie definitely loses a bit of the distinct flare that the first 2 had, but in what it loses from nixing Bay, it also gains. Script is way more efficient, the emotional steaks are far more tangible, and the pacing is WAAAAY better. I'd say I enjoy it maybe a tad bit less than the first 2, but it's a lot better than I expected it to be. Really dug it. Hype to watch the 4th one tomorrow.

Monkey Man 2024
This movie was very different than what I thought it was going to be, but in the best possible way. The action is of course very cool, but the movie shows an incredibly large amount of restraint with it, and chooses to focus on the protagonists personal journey. This in turn, leads to one of my favorite final acts of a film this year. I'm insanely fucking excited to see what Dev Patel is gonna direct next, because he blew this one out the water
