This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
I can't help but think back to when Joker (2019) released in theatres. I saw people online, as well as some close friends, criticize it up and down. They'd said it had shallow depth, symbolism that felt insultingly on the nose, a pastiche of several other named films that were communicating similar themes much better. For context, I personally disagreed with these critiques of Joker (2019). With Megalopolis, I see each of these critiques tenfold.
