Chungking Express 1994
more adorable than I'd remembered, a bit too much so for my taste now. still -- very funny, with perfect cinematography and a gorgeous cast. I used to roll my eyes when professors would lecture about ~the city as a movie character~ but I get it now. tangent, rhyming storylines; people having a powerful encounter then never meeting again. unresolved, as in life. the experience of the city is so rich and beautiful that you almost start to envy its sweaty humidity
