Strongest when it isn’t bogged down in domestic drama. A less sensationalised version of Nightcrawler but more interesting as a contemporary view of late 1960s America. Also, Robert Forster is terrific. Underrated actor.

An absolute favourite. Verhoeven capping arguably one of the greatest unofficial sci-fi trilogies. Goes all in and it’s glorious. Contender for the smartest dumb movie which is nothing to sneeze at.
