  Very strong film. I have to watch it again on the big screen. Sublime acting! The themes of the destructive power of capitalism and the hunt for wealth and prestige and the relationship between capitalism and religion, I think, is a very strong starting point for a film! This is beautifully and nuancedly worked out in the script.

  Sometimes a bit too much repetition in scenes without it really adding anything storywise. But furthermore brilliant. Beautifully filmed, good soundtrack and sound design, and a final scene that will stay with me for a while.

  A very artistic and endearing film. About a socially awkward, lonely man who is not understood by those around him and how he finds meaning in life again. Through love. Beautiful film. Only the specific style can sometimes distract a little from the message. 

  PS: I think I'll buy some pudding now, I want to go to Hawaii!

  Oooooh this movie is just perfection. A beautiful film about the complexity of forming identity and a study of (toxic) masculinity. Don't let your environment determine who you are. The scene in which Juan teaches Chiron to swim is one of my favorite filmed scenes of all time. And also the colors, the music, the acting, I actually like everything about this movie. And I'm a big fan of Mahershala Ali 👏🏻
