  A gorgeous piece of Indian cinema! Love the colors and camerawork. It’s pretty humbling to see the harsh reality these students have to go through. Storytelling-wise, the voiceover or “flashbacks” are a bit over the top for me. But glad to have seen it. 4/5 stars!

  Good sci-fi fun on a low budget! Concept is really cool but the cgi and acting are lackluster. I like the way the film starts straight in the cube’s action. And the continued mystery is fitting.

  Well, that was a disappointment. Rated 4.2 on Letterboxd, really? Of course the acting by Robin Williams is amazing, and some of the kids are notable as well — but that does not save the film, not by a mile. I found that most of Dead Poets Society plays out exactly like a kids film. Weak storytelling (the kids all wanted to revive the society after just a few lessons and not even remotely being interested in poetry?), unfinished stories…

  Wicked is a colorful spectacle with some amazing actor chemistry! The choreography and songs are very well executed. But still, my experience was severely tampered by the fact that the trailer literally showed the whole movie. Summarized into 3 minutes - there was not a single surprise for me. I know, it follows the theatrical play, but it still doesn’t sit right with me. If anything, it shows that this film didn’t need to be so long (which wouldn’t have been an issue otherwise). Lastly, I found the CGI to be somewhat distracting or even off-putting at times. 3.5/5 stars.
