  The appearance of Delphine Seyrig and the entirely voiceover conversation she has with Dirk Bogarde’s character really made this film work for me. Also, the use of silence and long shots of characters standing really makes this quite striking. Even though it’s scripted by Pinter and based off of Mosley’s novel, it almost feels like a work by John Hawkes or Thomas Bernhard.
