  Honestly better than I expected! Much funnier than I expected, & with some genuinely great supporting performances. 

  The script seems to lose its way in a couple places (Will Ferrell & the Mattel execs are set up to be important, maybe even antagonists, & then end up just kind of hanging around the second half of the film?; still not sure the emotional leaps/development of the Ferrera family were really built up to completely), & despite the genuine creativity the movie can’t escape its…
