  It may go without saying, but this is a masterful specimen of horror. Iconic imagery, deliberate pacing, and mysterious faith-bending demon lore. Wonderful cinematography with rich 70s warmth then juxtaposed with the icy grey bedroom confrontations. Also the sound. Repeated viewings year after year but never really appreciated how well crafted the sound editing is. Not just the effects and music but the ambient sections and scene transitions have such incredible dynamics. And this shit is STILL scary. I could go on forever about Capt. Howdy/Pazuzu’s true intentions and origins.

  Coming at this knowing fully well the immaturity of Sandler and his pals and had a blast. Being under the veil of a Halloween aesthetic, even better. Sandler’s got nothing to prove. I’m envious of everyone who gets the call to be in his movies. They are having a great time and it surfaces to the screen.
