This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
I don’t say lightly that everyone involved in the creation of this movie should undergo a deep self-evaluation. This includes the Olive Garden, Walmart, PopChips, FedEx, Heinz, among others.
I cannot believe this movie was not subject to some type of regulation that protects minors from not only consuming slop, but also from receiving blatant corporate advertising in a feature film… for children.
I wish I could remember the one (1) joke that I laughed at, but that, along with…
Maybe I’m a neolib simpleton, but I left the movie feeling moved. The lack of a political bend to one side of the aisle and the backdrops of places I’ve been (or places that resemble places I’ve been) gave me the space to wonder, “what did happen to get these people to this place?” A disappointing state we are in to have the risk of widespread violence feel an inevitability.
I came here from that twitter clip, and I dig his brand of humor for the most part. I laughed pretty hard a few times. Gets a little hit or miss in the middle, but the beginning and end are funny.
Amazing film, truly unforgettable. I have rarely felt so strongly coming out of a children’s film, but it really made me teary-eyed at least once. Only qualm for me is the pacing. We rush into the ending rather suddenly, which doesn’t take away from the movie too much but did make me stop and think “woah, we’re already here?”
