    Barbenheimer Part 1:

Oppenheimer kicks things off tonight with the most engaging three hour boardroom conversations I've ever seen. It's another strong entry from Nolan that loses its way somewhere in the middle before picking things back up.

For me the standout of the movie is the score. It does so much heavy lifting to ensure the three hour runtime doesn't drag. Personally I think the IMAX hype wasn't warranted with this one. There's not much that really screams "must…

    Barbenheimer Part 2:

    Ken/10

The main event of tonight lived up to every expectation I had and then some. Constantly funny, smart and relevant, this movie has set the standard for what filmmakers can do with IP and there's no excuses for popcorn shlock that's "just for fun" when this movie has all of the fun but with all of the quality.

Ryan Gosling delivered the best performance of his career and was born for this role. Margot Robbie brings…

I last saw Daredevil over a decade ago and remember enjoying it for what it was but can't recall if it was the theatrical or director's cut, but by all accounts the DC is the better version so I thought I'd check it out on a rewatch and it certainly is... something. It's like if you combined Raimi's Spider-Man with The Matrix and smeared it in shit.

It's far too 2000s for its own good with a level of cheese…

What a lovely, emotional little movie. I always felt Jessie Eisenberg was underrated in front of the camera and he may just be even better behind it. A Real Pain tells so much in such a short runtime and with a subtlety I appreciate, allowing the viewer to engage with the characters on a deeper level without the concept of who is right and who is wrong as you realise Dave and…

Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths Part Two

    ★½

Oh boy there goes all my hope for this trilogy. This movie immediately started on the wrong foot when instead of giving him an epic introduction, Batman Beyond casually appears as part of the background and doesn't even speak. Then in every other scene he's present he pretty much doesn't speak. What is this?

The majority of the runtime is spent on characters I had no care for in scenes terribly paced, with main heroes sidelined for no reason at…

Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths Part One

    ★★½

It was okay but the Tomorrowverse hasn't been fleshed out enough for a movie with this scale and concept. We see flashbacks to events that we never got to see play out in real time like the formation of the Justice League and all it did was make me wish we got to see those events properly instead.

I really hope Part 2 or Part 3 bring in DC animated properties past and present because to have a three movie event about a multiverse crisis and not utilise the wealth of animated projects that DC have would be a complete waste.
